Lately I have a parking sensor coming up randomly (i.e at traffic light but no one in front of me) and it always is the same - anyone a clue which sensor that would be ? Right to the number plate ?

Plate got no holder and is glued straight to the car and I cleaned everything already ...

My CLS55 used to do this quite randomly, turned out to be heat soak from the engine setting it off.

Interesting - I also read that it could be water trapped - WD40 is apparently a good help with that .. I mean it isn't a big deal anyway - I exclusively use cameras and disabled the sensors ... given that it is random I can only imagine it being a loose connector or water or as you say - heat ...

How did you find out it was heat ?

Conversation with indie specialist, ruled out damp or loose connections and I also noted it was more prevalent when the ambient air was chilly and the breeze from the rear..

Thanks - not really chilly here - in fact it is getting a bit hot for my taste :)

I used wd40 on mine for a while. It gets rid of damp but also rotted away the rubber seal on the side of the sensor ,making it worse.

Oh dear. Thanks for the info. Was thinking about PPF as well. That probably kills it too. I'll try compressed air.

Pretty sure the sensors are all the same . Btw.

I mean which sensor is responsible for the area that is firing up. Each sensor surely is responsible for a different area.

Correct.

Right and that's my point lol. Trying to figure out which sensor is responsible for the red dot. Can't be all of them

Argh ok . I'll guess at, the sensor right of the number plate ?

I took it you wanted to know which sensor it was , hence my , they are all the same answer . If you want to know which individual sensor is tripping you need a code scanner like icarsoft mb2 v2 . Its capable of talking with the sensors.

I wonder if it really has something to do with heat or magic. It doesn't come up around where I live but without a fail on a particular A road. I come from the shops, this thing fires up every two seconds. Mile up the road, nothing. It's booked in for end of August but I bet they find nuff all.
