At the moment I'm liking 'The Boxer' (Simon and Garfunkel) and 'Labelled With Love' (Squeeze).

Any other suggestions?

Wichita Lineman - Jimmy Webb/Glen Campbell

I am a lineman for the county
And I drive the main road
Searchin' in the sun for another overload
I hear you singin' in the wire
I can hear you through the whine
And the Wichita lineman is still on the line

Oh, I forgot to add 'Telegraph Road' (Dire Straits).

'Labelled With Love' (Squeeze).

This song has more words that don't rhyme made into rhymes than anything I've heard.

Great song though.

All of the above.

Just been listening to 'Charlotte Anne' by Julian Cope and trying to explain my understanding of the lyrics to my Mrs, neither of us had a clue what I was on about!

Having said that I've always been in awe of the first few lines to his track 'Vegetation'.

I predict that this thread will run and run.

In fact it's likely that I'll keep it going by myself.

Me neither. It would be helpful if people also added the URL.

The lonesome death of Hattie Carroll
Ballad of Hollis Brown
Masters of War

And if you're feeling romantic Love minus Zero (no limits)

He said, "This one's for Becky, as he watched the last one fall.
