I had a good look around the showroom whilst I was waiting. The SL 400 had £20k off but sadly the C63 only had £2k off (nice spec too) Which one would you have?

The SL400, because I favour high end luxury over high end performance. The SL has enough performance for me, though it's not really a young man's car these days eh?

There seems to have been massive discount on the SL400 since last year. I wonder whether they are not selling well enough. Looking at how many left only the AMG line seems to be selling with about 300 new registered in 2017- maybe due to the discounts on offer.

But does it have enough seats?

Mind you, I guess your S serves that purpose. :)
Yes, it has enough seats for me Happy, I just need one!

But seriously, SWMBO doesn't like coupés as it means getting in and out of her seat to let people in the back, or feel obliged to vacate when one of our friends travelling with us is tall (her main gripe with my lovely Saab 9-3 convertible, which was P/Xd for the S). It took a while to realise a core requirement is the same number of doors as seats!

So the choice once decided on a Mercedes was SL, AMG GT (too harsh) or S. For the same/less money, the S had a lot more going for it than the SL, much better value.

But an SL in the flesh is, externally, a very attractive car :)

I think it was around £140k , could have been more.

The C63.

So I did :)

Congratulations good choice , the one I would have gone for. The car in the showroom was a nice spec, if it had been white on 18s I may have been a tiny bit tempted ;)

The SL every time, purely because its an SL !!!!

The SL.

The number plate alone is worth a fortune :)

Thanks.

C63 looks great, surely more discount to be had though ?
I picked mine up 3 weeks ago with around a 13% discount through Carwow, so around 59k for a 66k car.
Same spec as this one but without the Night Pack nor Carbon Fibre interior trim, hence the 3k price differential.

However the salesman did say that dealers offering large discounts through Carwow were due to lessen significantly in the coming months.

Thanks.

That was a very good price, well done on that one. I think the discounts will reduce/disappear when the facelift models start to appear.

Yes agree on new facelift versions, but surely discounts on current model wont decrease, if anything I would expect them to go up ?

Is that C63 still sitting there for sale ?
