Have you noticed how white cars are now more in favour? Last timne I had a white car was an XR3i Escort Cabriolet in 1988 :o

I have just been reading the latest Autocar and they feature/advertise the following cars pictured white

Rolls Royce Ghost
VW Scirocco
VW Golf
VW Polo
Porsche Boxster Spyder
Porsche Panamerica
Lexus RX 450h
Range Rover Sport
Ford Fiesta Mountune
Fiat 500 Abarth

Don't see many Mercs in white except perhaps some C classes. I wonder why ... they seem to have them in the US

I have owned a white car in the past but I do think that some cars look MUCH better than others in white, and some look just awful.

The C Class looks very good in white, but the E looks terrible. The E Coupe however looks quite good IMO.

White on a premium car always seemed the basic option as a solid colour it was generally a no cost option. However as most things fashions come and go and white is the new black / silver :)

Mine is a White one e 350cdi sport coupe less than 4 weeks to go

Coupe looks good in white, but the saloon looks awful IMO

I have never been a sunroof fan so didn't spec one in my E Saloon, but if I had gone with a white coupe I would definitely have got the pano roof - looks very good on one.

Yep talking to a mate who tried to order a new peugeot convertible they are producing 200 in white 200 in black the dealer couldn't get a white one on the first day orders were taken but no problem if he wanted it in black

Perhaps in certain countries, white is considered a lucky colour such as Japan.

The TT I just sold was white, and got a lot of attention, whereas the same car but in a red or blue would not get looked at twice.

My new MB C Class Sport has been ordered in white as well.
Fancied black, but to keep clean is such a mare!

I wonder if there is a new paint process out there. Recently I passed a new Golf (or maybe a Scirocco) in white. The white looked a lot better than whites of old - it seemed glossier, more solid.

The white car I owned was always very easy to keep clean, which surprised me as I expected it to attract dirt like nothing else. The best I had for keeping clean was racing green, looked spotless even if you didn't clean it for a month :)

I was tempted to order a silver C, but I just thought it was too safe a colour and typical.
However, I do actually think silver is 'the' colour of a MB, and carries it off better than any other marque.

My E Coupe is metallic white (a slightly rarer colour) with pano roof and I love it...

I read somewhere, white is the most eco unfriendly colour as it used loads of titanium dioxide..

It's just fashion, I had a white Montego, well white and rust...

White and black are buggers to keep clean

A neighbour has a C63 in white and its stunning. Also a mate has a 997 in white(a different shade of white if that makes sense) and its looks incredible - probably the best colour for it, apart from orange on the RS.

Black is far more of a bugger. But looks lovely when clean. Until it rains and dust spots are all over it. Had a White W204 and thought it looked great. Had an off White Mazda626 and it got many compliments. Best colour I've found for looking clean when dirty is the silver with a gold hue or is that gold with a silver hue. Lol. Had a golf in that colour and it never looked too dirty.

There are two whites you can order the coupe in I think? ones quite a lot more, have to admit it looks nice.

As for keeping clean I've only ever owned one white car but oddly it looks clean even when it isn't....odd.

White has been fashionable & very effective for a few years. Lots of Fords look nice in it. Enough people buy it to not worry about the washing, so something must be right. + the titanium dioxide issue: hardly a drop in the ocean globally I bet...
