On my W03 C220 CDI I have noticed that under hard/heavy acceleration there is a puff of white cloud/smoke that comes out of the exhaust which I can see from my rear view mirror. Is this normal or is there something wrong? I know that black smoke means that the injectors are probably leaking but am not sure if this is the norm for white smoke.

Could someone please advise.

It probably isn't white smoke just the small particles being picked up by the sun at a low angle. It may even be dust being thrown up from the road under the pressure of the exhaust fumes, seriously I've seen this from the panzer when the roads are dusty.

If it is white smoke (steam) then it's head gasket, but I bet it isn't.
