White wall tyres

For 205 70 14 which I would really like for the 450SE. I have been looking for some for a while now. Not the broad sidewall but the narrow strip. Nearly bought some used but after a discussion elsewhere was warned off. Seen a few around on cars but can't find any for sale.

Hi Having done some home work i have found the following tyres available with a white wall but you might need to Google them to check how wide the white-wall is but they do say 20mm so you would like to thinkits 20mm, these tyres are all showing as readily available.

MAXXIS MA-1 205/70 R14 93 S WHITE WALL 20mm

VREDEST. SPRINT 205/70 R14 95 V CLASSIC WHITE WALL 20mm

XWX MICHELIN 205/70 R14 89 W VINTAGE WHITE WALL 20mm

Dont know if this is helpful or not but these are the only white-wall tyres available through our German and English suppliers for that size.

We put something similar to those on our son's MG Midget when, as his 21st birthday present, we had wire wheels fitted. Initially they looked OK, but after a while the rings warped away from the tyre in places, which looked awful. Admittedly that was 1999, so maybe 14 years later they are better.

Paint? Well I suppose so using a rubber based paint. Need a steady hand but even then it would be impossible to get an even coating which would quickly show up with wear. Not heard of any sprayable rubber paint which would be the cheap answer and probably quite effective. I will investigate.
