Afternoon,

Anyone on here know where I can find some white walled tyres for my W115 (1972). Using this as my wedding car provided I get it running right, and fancied the white walled look if its relatively inexpensive.

I'm happy to hear if there are any DIY methods also, paint? :)

Car in question is here

Thanks people,
Harry.

I know of a guy in Stafford who basically paints the sidewalls white. I'll see if I can get the number of him from my mate for you.

Graham, that would be brill if you can.

I wasn't even wholly serious about painting...didn't know it was possible. Look forward to a response.

Thanks,

Harry.

Should have number for you shortly. My mate's white W202 looked good after being done. Unfortunately his tyres were pretty new and the white's gone a bit yellowy. I understand this can happen but the Stafford guy can go through this with you. I'll post back asap.

I've got that number now and was going to pm you (as I don't think it's good to post someone's number on an open forum without permission). However, I think your post count is only 27 whereas you need 30 to be able to receive, Do you want to increase to 30 and I'll try again ?

Just googled whitewall tyres and if you look at mrwhitewalls.com I think that's the guy who did my mate's car

I used to use Holts' Tyrewall White on mine . Sadly , I haven't seen it in shops for years though - you may find some at an autojumble if you get lucky .

Whatever you do , don't fit the white rings that sandwich between the tyre and the rim as these chafe and can eat through the sidewall .

Good point. Prior to having it painted, my mate tried the rubber ring things and they were a complete disaster. Didn't even fit properly after a few miles !

OK Harry, just pm'd you with that number.
