Motorists wanting to drive a less-polluting car would do well to buy one that is green in colour as well. Vehicles of a green hue are less likely to suffer bird droppings, a survey from Zurich Insurance showed. Overall, 89% of motorists have been on the receiving end of a "bird strike" in the last 12 months, with drivers spending a total of nearly £57 million a year cleaning up their vehicles.

Sounds like a load of **** to me..

Rubbish. My Burnham Green Aston Martin is always getting covered in bird droppings, usually 2 or 3 a day.

My Almandine Black Mercedes-Benz gets far less, maybe 1 a week.

I think they do, which is why the do it when just washed..it's shiney..

We had a black Peugeot resprayed after it had been standing for two weeks with birds messing on it. That's about £2k worth of damage.

I suspect Zurich mean car cleaning and repairs to bird lime damage.

i must admit i love green cars
