So who washed their pride and joy today so that it looks nice and clean and shiny for the New Year? I spent 4hrs today washing mine and did the under body/arches as well to wash off the dreaded salt/grit. Soon after I had finished and parked it in the garage it started to rain. :D

AT 8.30AM I got the car out of the garage and as soon as I was about to rinse it with water it starts to rain therefore meaning I could not do anything. However, after 10.30AM it stopped raining and that’s when I started.

I wish! The weather's been so bad here all day I've not been able to get out to do stuff like that. So Edna starts the New Year as she left the old one - a mucky little mare :D

Same here, its building now ......

Why can't you wash the car in the rain? It softens the dirt nicely and doesn't leave any water marks.

I once saw a man washing his car in a dual carriageway layby when it was absolutely sluicing it down.
Mind you they are strange folk in Lincolnshire.

Errm..You said Salt on your car. Haven't you washed it since last year then? No salt this year.

are you kidding , gritters have been out since late november. my car looks like it also comes in blue at the moment...

My car is spotlessly clean:)
After my full clean up it was filthy in 4 days and 500 miles so I washed it and put it to bed. It's been there since Chritsmas eve.

Filthy in this case means you couldn't get into the car or boot without getting clothes dirty.

Been out on my bike a few times so need to clean that properly as it's fithly now.:(

Filthy is when your trousers get it on the side steps and you can't see the numberplate on the back .. what a shame eh ;) lol

Ahh, my proper MB number plate has a special anti filth coating. It never gets very dirty even when the car changes colour.

Fuzzer, I'm sure it's a special upgrade you could have as an option on a BMW.:D

lol, i cleaned mine yesterday and put it in the garage b4 it started pouring down, went out today.... took the other halfs mk1 golf as i didnt clean that and didnt want the merc to get dirty again ;)

No the car was washed on Christmas on my way home from work and has not moved an inch since then. The wife's Sharan works well in nasty weather like this. :D

No the car was washed on 21 November after our Highland break and has not moved an inch since then. The Saab works well in nasty weather like this. :D

Took mine into work with the sole intention of washing and polishing it. Got as far as an engine clean (just changed head gasket) and found a vac pipe floating about. Wondered why the gear changes were so harsh  Anyway, sorted that and decided that a wash will wait for New Year. ;) Put Gollums car on the ramps.............oh dear, he is not going to be a Happy Bunny, I now know where his oil leak is coming from :o

Been raining on and off all day here. My R129 is sitting nice and clean under its cover though :)

Due to complete on the new house on Friday - with double garage, hooray!
