The wife's Sharan works well in nasty weather like this. :D

Yup we just got back from (finally) seeing Casino Royale, took the Sharan for that. Our old Audi A4 has been used most over the last month or so.

oh my poor baby has been sitting in the work car park festering until it's cake of road salt after I parked it up on the 27th before I went away.....
It'll just be a piece of corroded metal when I see it again on the 6th !

Why can't you wash the car in the rain? It softens the dirt nicely and doesn't leave any water marks.

I once saw a man washing his car in a dual carriageway layby when it was absolutely sluicing it down.
Mind you they are strange folk in Lincolnshire.

Errm..You said Salt on your car. Haven't you washed it since last year then? No salt this year.

ERMMM its pointless washing car in the rain as I am not able to dry it propelry with a chamois (I wash my cars thorougly and afterwards dry the door frames/rubber seals, clean/dry alloys wheels inside out and the engine cover etc.) I rather not get drenched in the rain thank you very much...

When ever I clean my car I do it thoroughly – around our ways on Boxing day a gritter had chucked a fresh load on the some of the roads (why I don’t know – guess the drivers must be bored:rolleyes: ) so I had to wash it all off today. As Fuzzer said gritters have been in action since November!!! However, they use a new type of salt/grit called “supa grip” round our ways(that’s what they use in USA) and it is like a powder compound which dissolves on to the tarmac and is far better than the dreaded stones they normally use that chip/damage the paintwork.

Car is looking very niceeeee and is parked in the garage  . All this rain we have had over the w/end will have washed the salt off the roads so if weather is nice tomorrow I will take her out for a drive.

Next wash I will give her a coulpe of coats of Zymol Cream Wax again.

Yep...did my W211 this morning as I am going to Brooklands tomorrow morning for a social meet with the MB owners club guys.........

New years day... Happy new year all, but im about to wash and polish my pride and joy today...

its been peeing down with rain here all day, what a lovely start to the new year as i got a banging hang over aswell

Cleaned mine yesterday as it was filthy from the horrid weather last week.

Didn't bother to leather it off afterwards as it was expected to rain. It did, it persisted and blew a gale.

The car was still clean this morning though even though it had been out all night.;)

Went to North West London today and gave the car a good run - car has now done nearly 12500 miles and I can feel the engine starting to loosen up as it has become even more responsive and I am really impressed with the torque. Alloys I will clean again at the w/end as picked up a little bit of brake dust today...;)

Between Christmas & New Year

Washed & polished the Lexus

Washed, polished, vacuumed, and wiped down interior on the SLK

Washed, polished paintwork & chromework on daughter No1's mini (didn't do anything about the small lake in the offside footwell)

Added several shiny bits, cleaned & repainted a couple of bits of chipped paintwork, wired up passing lights, and rectified corrosion on handlebar switches on the dragstar.

Aren't I a good boy?......

PS one of the mirror mounted repeater lenses in the SLK is cracked. Does anyone know if these can be purchased seperately?

Exactly. We got back from Austria on the 29th. Car seemed to be inches thick in yuk.
New Years Day we went out and it was pouring down. Left it outside when we got back while I mixed up buckets of shampoo and washed it.
No drying out, the rain perfectly washes off all the shampoo except dwon below and around the wheels.
Put it in the garage, doors open to drain off and gave it a wipe over after a while.
I often wash the car like this.

They are on the E class, I got mine from http://www.mercedes-benz-parts.co.uk at a cost of £16.43
