With such a large membership, and such a varied age group, it would be interesting to discover what is the largest and heaviest vehicle you have ever driven on or off the Queens highway. To start off, the heaviest unladen vehicle I have driven is 62 Tons.?

When I was 15, I woke up lying next to a bird who weighed more than that. Does that count? :D

I take my hat off to you, driving a bendy bus in England must take nerves of steel, I bet driving near schools was a hoot (due to all the parked cars)

A 24 ton mobile kitchen in Morocco when i worked on the films.

It needed moving from one location to the next and somehow i ended up with the job. I'd never driven anything bigger than a Golf before that.

I knocked over a mini roundabout , and when i say knocked over i mean pulled it out of the ground , not drove over it.

My Moroccan 'fixer' just shouted 'Keep Going !!! Don't Stop !!! ' so i did. :D

Never heard anything more about it.

Anyone remember the big Pickford trucks. Often used to see them delivering turbines to the shipyards but alas no more. Are they still about?

As Mr Ringway says, my Unimog is the biggest thing I've driven on a public road, it weighs 6.8 tonnes and is plated for a max of 7.5t. :) Bit of a tiddler really compared to some of the tonnage on this thread!

Hi,is that the one with the big 'Brakes' sign that jumps out of the dash on first starting, until the air pressure builds up? I also remember the 'Sarican':)done a few miles in one of them. Stag on.

What about a London Underground train? :D
Good mate of mine used to be a Piccadilly Line driver and a couple of times he let me operate the train! Just like my old train set really except that didn't have a dead mans handle! LOL!
