ahh d_w124, wondered when you'd poke your head up.

You've got the 'detailing is not a profession' bit between your teeth firmly. As proved over many a detailing thread where we have enjoyed your enlightened 'blinkered' inputs.

Meaning it's a skilled trade and not something you'd attempt yourself in it's guide of elements, i.e wetsanding, checking paint depths etc.

Last I checked this was MBClub and not DW where people need help with fixing cars and not cleaning them

PS:You still did not answer my question, what`s calling a plumber on sunday has anything to do with detailing/detailers?

Try getting a detailer to come over on a sunday !

"MB club UK is A non profit Mercedes Enthusiast club run by enthusiasts for enthusiasts, MBClub UK is in no way affiliated with Mercedes-Benz, DaimlerChrysler or any of their respective trademarks. The posted views of our members are in no way the views of MBClub.co.uk or its owners."

Try checking again;)

Mbclub where the members can talk about anything to do with cars?

This forum isn't strictly just about cars... I see threads on property advice, relationship advice etc.

People should feel free and welcome to talk about whatever they please aslong as they don't offend.

It was an example trade as many pro detailers would work weekends. ( ok maybe albeit not the best immediate choice of equal representation :bannana:

You are correct, it is mbclub but this is the detailing section as was my reference referral to input provided against topic subject.

I am new here... Well... I joined a long while ago, but have only just purchased a Mercedes, so only just become a regular visitor...

And... I don't understand the problem. Lots of areas of lots of forums have a sponsor. It's good for all parties. No-one is forcing anyone to pay money to have their car washed, so what's the issue? If you want to pay for a valet (or a detail), then fair enough, if you don't, then don't... Why the hostility?

We already knew they some of them are greedy

It isn't greed to offer your customer a better service by making yourself available on a Sunday! I don't charge more for it, I don't know anyone who does!

Many people work Monday to Friday and need their cars during that time. Me working weekends is sometimes the only way they can get their car done. If I work a weekend I take time off mid-week when I can.

Oh my how this has escalated since earlier. But to all the haters, thanks for the view boost on another one of my posts. My website has had over 50 views in 3 hours:) you can pat yourself on the back for that one. After looking back through there's the trend of the famous 5. So I suppose its not to bad for a site that has quite a few more members then that. Lol and just to think I asked a simple question of who to ask for sponsorship.

Whilst being a newbie on this site, although a Mercedes owner and enthusiast for 15 years or so, I feel like I have to say that the input from the professional detailers is absolutely invaluable to us amateurs. Without their help and deep knowledge many of us would be wasting our money, time and effort to accomplish very little. Whatsmore we would probably not go to the lengths that we do for fear of damaging our expensive motor cars, but their guidance gives us the confidence to go that extra mile.

I think that Detailed was actually and honestly trying to help members gain discounts and offers, whilst actually trying to give something back to the community.

I'm looking forward to the Nick spoof detailing thread.

I've got to say I've learned a great deal from viewing the threads in this section on detailing and I'm grateful to the pros on here who post their work, guides and products to use so don't see the big deal, sponsorship and discounts is a great idea, everyone wins.

There's just too much aggravation on this thread, I think people need to dwell on their actions and not wax lyrical about others.

It's about time they polished up their act and stopped swirling around these forums, they don't need to keep rubbing it in.

It just doesn't wash any more.

Your post shines a different light on the subject. I think you need to reflect on your words. This is not something that should be glossed over or swept under the carpet. We need a clean fresh approach.

When this all done somebody will have to come and mop up the mess.

Nearly upto 1500 views thanks to the big 5 ( you know who you are wink) you guys moan for hours about a really normal question I ask and you alone have boosted my anylistics on google alone. Much appreciated:)
But seriously I have never seen men who are blatantly over 40 argue like a bunch of girls. All so I could sponsor a DETAILING FORUM to give members FREE advice and DISCOUNT on services and PRODUCTS.
Obviously I know it's 5 guys on here who don't like it so will not make any different to the rest of the guys who enjoy it.

Anyway back to the thread, I'm not to sure If I should pm koolvin now lol.
