Why Debadge A Pre Facelift 320CDI CLS?

Mine came badged, sort of.

The CDi one is missing from the RHS but the E320 is there. Guess the chap (A Mr Kevin Green of Doncaster) wanted people to think it was petrol.

It's waaay faster than a V6 petrol 320....

Interestingly, I've always debadged my cars in the past, regardless of their engine size etc, but this time, with the CLS I've kept it badged. Not sure why, but I seem to like the look of it with it's badges!! Have I gone mad?!! :D

Edit: I must recount this - not long after I bought the CLS I visited a friend of mine and after a while he looked at the car and said - "bit bigger than the usual C classes I've seen..."!! I was taken aback and asked him why he thought it was a C... He said "'cos it says Cls on the back. Must be a stretched C!!! :D Ignorance is bliss eh!! :D

I like advertising to people that my car goes fast so I would keep them on if I had a large engined car. If I drove a peashooter mobile, I'd worry less but be loud and proud if you have a big engine :D

I had mine de-badged by Mercedes, simply for clean line purposes.

My old CLK230K was debadged when I bought it and I was OK with that. When I ordered my C350 the salesman asked if I wanted it debadged. I declined, preferring to retain the simple and clean 4 characters that declared my status! The only downside is that it's a tad harder to clean and polish.

I always see the badges as free manufacturer advertising for their engine range and so I remove them.

Surely Mercedes wouldnt want their cars showing the 3 pointed star with the panels adorned with rust? I would put them back on. To be honest I dont understand the free advertising comment. What are you adverting? The fact that there are many around? There are many Vauxhalls around, doesnt mean they are any good.

Lol, no I dont think so. Nothing rusts like a Mercedes as I have found out recently...or breaks down...hmm Im beginning to understand his point. Do you really want to go round advertising you are driving a Mercedes these days?

Peel off the Mercedes star and fit a Vauxhall badge, more street cred, innit.

Especially with those VXR badges. Just spray the wheel black and job done...sorted.
