I have just bought a 2001 CLK320 Cabriolet for my partner's 50th birthday.
What I can't understand is why the three cars I looked at all had seven or eight owners in the logbook (and others I did not look at also with long list of owners)
Normally I would run a mile if I was buying a secondhand car up to 10 years old if there were more than three owners in the book. I tend to keep cars for at least four or five years or until they die.
So I had no choice but to buy a car that had 8 previous owners.
Is it because the CLK's are not nice to drive, are too expensive to run or is there some other agenda like: women drivers keep changing their minds?
Anyway it is a bit off putting and I will see how it works out as I was thinking that even if this is my first ever MB, the legendary build quality will win through in the end.
P.S the car was still immaculate, with all the extra's like Bose Premium Sound System, all round parking sensors etc.
