Wide Body SL600

Yes, I agree, without the Red Bits

The panels are not bolted up yet and yes I am keeping the red. Bring on all the comments but the last thing I want is to heavily modify my car and pull up next to another car that looks the same.

I am building a one off that will stand out in the crowd. If it stands out for the wrong reasons so be it.

In general the Mercedes crowd are quite conservative so I will expect a lot if negative reactions.

Quite a bit of work still to do before even I can get an idea of what the finished product will look like.

I think the all silver has been done before. I remember it was by everybody.

Now that one I like... I think it's the 1980's black/red combo that is hard on the eyes.

The color is dark grey. I did go into it knowing the red would be a bold choice.

When I got my new red Brembos, I liked the contrast, so I rolled with it. My inter coolers, trans pan, billet idler pulleys, ice tank and a few other items will also share the same color.

I really don't think you will come across to many Wide Bodied SL's .

This is true but the red stands out for good or bad. It will do the trick.

The bonnet was replaced with the kit, so the vents are part of the kit.

How much did you pay for the kit?
Chris keep your money the panel gaps in this kit are outrageous !
I rather spend the money in flowers for the missus !;)

If you had experience with body kits the panel gaps are down to the install. By the way it is not finished in case you had not noticed.

I got the kit about 6 months ago so I would have to check to be sure but I think it was around £5k

It is a full kit including spoiler, diffuser, splitter, LED daytime running lights, front and rear bumpers, side skirts, front wheel arch panels, rear wheel arch flares and bonnet.

Which you did allude to in your first post!

If it gives you pleasure then the best of luck with the project!:thumb:

Thx. DSM

I think with any build it is a combination of pleasure and frustration.

I'm sure your patience will pay off.
Mines been a nearly a year now so can definitely relate to the pleasure and frustration.

The beauty of modifying is that it appeals to us each in different ways. So hats off to you for doing it your way.

I think it's down to having a decent body shop as to whether it will be a good fit so I'm on the look out for one now

Looks good Chris,
However, I would be a bit worried that it "blew off" on the Autobahn....I appreciate if its fitted properly it should be perfect. However, its still sticking bits of plastic on that shouldn't be there at the end of the day

If you were just "pottering" about then no issues.....but we all know you don't potter about LOL

I will let you know if the bits blow off when I hit 220mph on the Autobahn.

Check out the low key yellow.
