Widescreen comand in pre-facelift W209 CLK

Hi...

I'm wondering if the newer DVD comand can be installed in a 2003 CLK (pre facelift) A/C209 ?

Assuming I have the newer climate panel and switches, will it be a direct fit? Has anyone any experience or knowledge regarding this?

Can't be done (well it's definitely NOT plug & play).

The widescreen unit on the W209 CLK & W203 C run on a different type of electrical interface. The pre-facelift run a system called D2B whilst the new ones are known as MOST, they are not interchangeable. It's not just a case of swapping COMAND and the switches...

There is a guy in the US (he sometimes comes onto this forum too - sunman) that has updated his W203 to the new setup but it's a MAJOR modification, needs a completely new wiring loom, new instrument cluster, switch panel, air-con module etc. If you knew what you're doing & had the time & money you could probably do it, don't expect much change from at least £4k though!
