Widescreen monitors - any advantage?

I was wading through some old digital images last night and the reproduction on the new screen was amazing. I guess you get used to what you have and when you upgrade you then get used to that!

Here is mine;

Hmm, webcam Alfie.

You know what they say about people with webcams..

Alfie, do you really work with that as normal desktop monitor? It must be like sitting at the front row at the cinema!

Im browsing this with a mac and for the first time in ages Ive had to scroll left and right because of Alfies monster! Ironic really as the mac screen is already widescreen. I currentl use two standard 19" LCDs' on main PC/server in house. I do a lot of video editting with work and find this a very good way. However I do have a 27" LCD Tv networked in bedroom which is brilliant to watch downloaded films on. Same applies to 42" plasma in living room, I could recommend this route if you like watching downloaded films; all linked with pre-n wireless network to sloosh the media around the house (and probably 3 adjacent houses)

I cant afford a widescreen so I use two monitors stood side by side.......:crazy:

Its a recent addition to the house. Its great for having lots of windows open at the same time. The games on it are quite good too.

The webcam is for skype conversations with relatives in other countries. Its nice for grandparents/aunts/uncles etc to see the kids and say good night to them sometimes. IT HAS NO OTHER USES:eek: ;)

Twin screens are good but I really hated the fact that all windows opened up in the middle. What would be really good would be two 30" monitors!:eek: Even I think that would be excessive at home.
