Well 108,000 and little A's Mot due next month, Had 2x New shock absorber's and 2x Stab links fitted by one of our customer's today and Wow what a difference! Handles a goodun. Treated little A to a Mini Detail.

Wash with the faithful turtle wax followed by a G3 Super resin Machine Polish. Unfortunatly i didnt have time to seal it off with a Wax. :( Managed to do the bumpers with Megs Gel along with the rest of the black plastics and tyres.

They are quite cheap for the A class think £150 will buy you an entire interior!

Excellent mate I have a bottle of this already its great stuff for tyres and it smells nice lol, do u find that if applied to plastics the dust etc is more proned to sticking to the gel?

I usually put it on with a cloth do the car then wipe off any excess after so the dust etc doesn't stick to it. :)

Took little A to work today, MOT next week, Finally got around to do the Pollen filter, 8 screws that was all, Scuttle panel lifted up slid the old one out and New one back in Job done. :)

2x New Rear shocks going on :)

Have you had any issues with the rear door catches/latching?

I ask as my FIL passenger rear door does not want to latch without a giant body slam. I have tried re-aligning the striker and latch and greasing both. It feels like a rubber is holding it off. But I can’t find anything out of place. I note the latch etc have cross hair alignment marks. These are spot on.

When the car is locked is the passenger rear door actually locked? The lock button may be down but the door isn't locked.

The cable to the lock button may have snapped and be getting caught up in the latch mechanism. Assuming this is a W168...

I had an issue with the tailgate lock - really needed a hard push down, replaced the lock with a brand new one from MB, couple of years later the problem [gradually] came back, although nowhere near as bad ...

That's also on W168, 2001 Y-reg (not my current car).

Yep i've had exactly that!! also the Catch did need adjusting but i did this when i replaced the whole rear door as it was just as cheap and easier than the mech itself lol. About £40 i think haha

Let me ask him to test this out. Thank you for the suggestion. It would make sense as it feels like it has a rag stuck in the latch,?when it clearly does not. But it is that lack of latchiness (my word) that is the issue. Several slams and it will catch. But by then the car has moved three feet to the left.

Wherever you got a door at that price, do they have facelift doors for a 169 coupe, by any chance?

:)
