2008 C180 Kompressor.
Hi guys will 5w30 oil burn off quicker than 5w40 in a w204 c180 kompressor thanks.

It can vary from different brands , but 5W30 is the superior grade as it will protect better and it will circulate quicker on a cold start !

You've just got to roll with it observe and top up if necessary .

While 5W30 will typically be a liitle thinner than 5W40 the difference at a cold start can only be marginal as they are both in the 5W band. The 30 or 40 only makes a difference as the oil gets hot.

If your engine is consuming oil then it's possible but not guaranteed that it will consume less with 5W40. For what it's worth the oil consumption on my C180K using 5W40 is so low at 73K that I can't measure it but I've haven't ever used 5W30 for a comparison. Regardless of consumption issues I tend towards 5W40 in the belief it's better for cam chain wear which is a known weakness on these engines.
