Will Navigation work on dashboard?

Just bought a 2001 E220CDI Classic with a standard Audio 10 (I think) radio. I have a Becker APS 30 unit to install, which came straight out of a W210 E55, but what I would like to know is, will I be able to access the Nav through the Multifunction steering wheel and have a display on the dash?

You would be better off posting this in the Electronics forum, but the short answer is "Not straight away". You will need to tell the car that it has the new device via a Star computer. A MB dealer or Alfie (a member on here) can do it but it will cost.

you'll need to have nav enabled in the cluster. easy with a star machine.

assuming audio-30 allows this as standard, then yes but you'll need to have nav enabled in the cluster. easy with a star machine. i retrofitted command and the nav had to be switched on for the cluster to see it.

you may be lucky and it will already be switched on just not used..... i'd fit the audio-30 1st and see, if it doesnt show, then go to a specialist with a star machine to switch it on

You will almost certainly need the cluster enabled to show the navigation instructions.

Depends where you go. Mercedes will probably charge you either an hour or a half hours labour.

I'll do just the cluster enabling for you for £30 if you bring the car over to Woking!

OK, fitted the unit but for some reason, the nav is stuck on my road, I am getting long and lat details and between 3 to 6 satellites, but when I punch in a destination, it wont remove my road, any ideas??
