Can someone tell me if these wheels will fit my C230K (W202) 1999?

225 40 18" Front
265 40 18" Rear
(10.5J)

Thanks in advance.

Depends on the offset I would have thought. Somebody more knowledgeable may be able to offer better advice though.

I,m not sure of the profiles you have on those tyres, if you get the wrong profile tyre it can cause ABS/ESP faults, so do ensure yourself that this won,t be the case before buying the tyres.

Some more info....hope this helps.......?

FRONT WHEELS PART No HWA 1294010102, ET 31, 8J X 18H2.
REAR WHEELS PART No HWA2104010202, ET 35, 9J X 18H2

I have the exact same wheels on my CLK500... they are off a 230 SL or 211 E... They fitted fine to my 209 CLK but needed new bolts, I'm running 235 front with 265 rear but I think on the 202 it had to be 225 front and 255 rear due to possible rubbing... I'm sure a 202 guru will be along soon... PM Shude who knows...

So....(sorry to be a noob..) will they fit? yes/no. Can i purchase them with confidence that they will fit my car?

Thanks.

When I had my first W202 I fitted the same size wheels and tyres.
The problems that I experienced was that they would rub quite harshly when I went over speed bumps and very uneven roads unless you took it "extremly" slow.
They did look a bit over the top for the car, but that was just my opinion.
They will fit but they may also rub.

The wheels will fit fine, they sound like staggered E55 rims to me.

The tyre size for the front is correct for a W202 or 208 CLK. It will maintain the same rolling radius as your O.E wheels/tyres (and hence keep the gearing, speedo etc correct :))

The rear size is not however - that's too wide (265) and also too high a profile (40). You should be using 255/35/18s on the rear, which again is the appropriate size.

BTW, why does it say 10.5J in the first post? But when you mention the part numbers etc they're 8J and 9J (which would be correct!)

Thanks for the replies. Im not to clued up on wheels as you may be able to tell. I spotted them on ebay and they were on a clk (208), so just thought id ask if they would fit a w202. Just really desperate to get a set of AMG's on my car as the current 16's really look crap. Would prefer 18's over 17's tho. Guess im going to have to keep looking!

So would the following fit my w202?....

Size 18"
5x 112 PCD
ET47 Offset

Cheers

Hi sgtbob,

The wheels that you mention at the beginning of this thread sound perfect! Exactly what I used to run on my old W202 C230K.

Just check the size of the rear tyres, you just need 255/35/18s on them and away you go.

Will

Oh right! Thanks. I thought the first set i mentioned were unsuitable for my car. So your saying that the alloy itself is fine, its just the rear tyre size is too big? So i can buy them and then just change the tyre size?

Cheers

Yep, the wheel sizes you mention in post #4 are fine, are these staggered AMG styling IIs by chance?!(they're standard W210 E55 wheels)

Just change the rear tyres to 255/35s.

Will

yeah they are style II's. Been desperatly searching for a good set for ages at a decent price. Thanks very much Will for putting up with my "noob-ism" lol.

Cheers

Hi. Sorry to bring this up again, but change of plan on the aforementioned wheels. Do the wheels below (different) fit my c class (w202)?
(the alloys currently have no tyres, so what size would be best?)
Thanks again.

18"
5X112 PCD
ET47 offset.

I'm running 18's on my W202 C230K at the moment:

Front: 225/40/18
Rear: 245/35/18

But 255/35/18 will also work, i just didnt take them as they weren't available when purchasing my wheel.

Oh and my Brabus wheels are 8.5J all-round i think.

If those wheels are coming off a W208 CLK then it will be fine as long as it was fine on his. The W208 CLk and W202 C-class have exactly the same Chassis.

what car are they coming from?

My offset is ET35
