Will these fit

If you read the threads called w210 and w202 factory approved wheels you will see that the wheels adertised are w210 wheels and that 202s are recomended to take 225/40r18s at the front and 255/35r18 at the rear. The correct tyres for the wheels you are looking at are 235 and 265 at the rear. The et numbers are also wrong.

They may well be too wide both front and back unless you are prepared to take a chance and alter the bodywork if neccessary.

hmmm.

Thanks. A little to expensive to take a chance with though so give them a miss.

I've got these wheels on mine and R2D2 is correct about the tire size. They don't over extend beyond the wheel arches on mine but bear in mind C36's have that black plastic lip over the arches otherwise the front's outer edge would just about line up with the wheel arch, the rears are fine, they tuck into the arches nicely. Also, there is no rubbing when the steering is at full lock on either side.

I'll try to get some pics done of them to show you or else check out mamoor dewan's threads.

This ebay seller has these wheels up quite regularly. I think he can get hold of the 17" wheels too.

emm even more confused now so. Could go on with a little modification then? What affect would it have though with the ET no's being wrong?

Mine didn't need any modification to fit, just make sure the tires sizes are as R2D2 stated. The offset in the advert is the same as on mine. I have 225/40 x 18 and 255/35 x 18 boots on mine.

Its looking better then,Thmmshaun! Fit the C Class recomended tyre size on the e class wheels. Mickl can we see the photos to see how that offset looks?

PS. I cant talk about fitting E class wheels as my C Class has CLK wheels! Keep the et about right and the tyre widths OK and wheel combinations are possible!

The ET* numbers are perfect. My AMG rims were offsets of ET35 front ET30 rear and fitted perfectly, remember that the offset relies entirely on the width of the wheel.

The plastic wheelarch things are cheap and also pointless, they are for spray rather than anything else :) . They are also randomly on other cars, not just the C36, some models got them when they were factory-equipped with AMG rims, some didn't.

The wheels will fit, but you might need to have the inner metalwork of the rear arches rolled/folded flat, which is stock on the C36, the front arches may or may not already be rolled/folded depending on the age of the car.

Only current pic I have of mine at the moment, not much help as it's a side shot! lol I'll try to get some done later. I've put narrower tyres on now, as the original E55 spec tyres really rubbed.

some pics of mamoor dewans here http://www.mbclub.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=9501 who has the same wheels as me, Alps also has the same. The lowered look http://www.mbclub.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=9914 .

lol, I quite like the arch lips as mine's a pretty dark colour they don't stand out too much. If it was a lighter colour like silver then I'd probably have removed them too. Mind you, silver is not to my taste anyhoo  :p

I concur with Mick, they will fit. The only reason I had some arch rubbing is that the person who fixed my offside wing didnt do a proper job, also I had the car lowered. If you drop it you can expect some rubbing on full lock.....But if you stick with standard springs you'll have no bother

Ok then people so things are looking up and seemingly i can get them to fit but am baffled now by ets offsets sizes etc. So can we please clarify for the wheels as on the link what would be the coreect tyre size for the 202?

:D Yay Mrs wont be happy but hey think they will look sweet.

Oh and what do you think the max price should be for them???

actually the wheel arch extensions are rubber ... and they don't stand out too much if your car is dark ... I asked the MB dealer to remove when I was buying the car, they wouldn't because they were worried about the paint coming. Have got used to them now, and quite like them. My car was factory fitted with AMGs but no idea whether the arches were also factory fitted

What did you do with these?
I am up for a re-boot verrrrrrrry soon

Cooking on gas now Mickl. Will be sure to keep a close eye on that auction. Thanks For that. :bannana:

Not a bad price with rubber band fitted as that can add a fair chunk on when you consider for cheap nasty hankooks youll be paying £1600 min from tyresave.co.uk. Will be assesing the finances.
