Window return

Hi ppl
Just replaced the window cables on a 2007 cls( some usefull tips in here, thanks!) but now the window doesn't drop when the door is opened and closed...also the mirrors don't automatically fold in and out on the door function. Any advice would be gratefully received

Haven't checked but shouldn't be. Was all working fine before the cable snapped.

Are you sure you reattached all the plugs back into the door control module before putting the door card back on?

Yes all plugged in. Mirrors are now folding in when I lock it and fold back out when key goes in but the window still doesn't drop the half inch it should when door is opened.

Try resetting the window by opening fully on the button, then closing and holding the button for 5 seconds.

Do you have the plastic lock surround back in place on the door edge?

Will try resetting the switch in the morning. No, have only plugged everything back in and popped the door panel on to make sure it all worked. Door card and internal panels still in the boot.

+1 for AMGeed's window resynchronisation suggestion - don't think the auto drop will work until the window's position is known.

If that's required to contact the door pin switches, then definitely needed.

A very common mistake, quick test before reassembling door card etc, only to find stuff doesn't work as expected ...

That would make sense seeing as the dash is saying the door is open when driven. Thanks will try this today at some point
