Window winder lubrication

My drivers door window groans a bit sometimes. I suspect its just needs a touch of lubrication.

Is there an easy way of doing this without taking all the door trim off?

I have a 2004/5 W203.

I was thinking of just pushing the small red tube which comes with WD40 down between the glass and the door frame and just wiggle and squirt about a bit and hope for the best.

Has anybody done this or is this not a good idea for any reason?

Ideas and suggestions please.

If you are going to do this I would use silicon spray as it's less messy.

Didn't work for me though!

I think there is a modified part for that fault that goes on the regulator.
