Fair play, he did a good job, but admitted he'd never worked on this model of car before. We all have to learn sometime, but it did make me wonder what he'd have done if I hadn't been there

Hi there,
i think the tech done the right thing, he stopped and was honest with you - probably couldn't find one of the 10mm's? ;)

He probably wouldn't have even bothered trying if you weren't there in all fairness, but there's always 1..... :D

So, "Autoglass Despair, Autoglass Disgrace". :p

I used Autoglass for my replacement screen. My insurance company didn't want to pay for a genuine MB screen (if there's no difference, why is the MB screen more expensive) so I had a non-MB screen fitted. The screen was a "goldfish bowl" unit and this was replaced by Autoglass with a genuine MB screen which is perfect.

My Sprinter screen was replace around 5, years ago, on my driveway, in the rain and does leak. :(

The Glass manufactuerer is pilkington, or saint gobain??? x2 of the best makes.

mercs do NOT make glass, they buy, stamp their badge on, and sell! from their stock! i.e, genuine merc pads can be obtained froma a company called schaffear (or something), just without a merc printed stamp on the box, or brake pad backing.....

Sprinter screen was carried out by Autoglass. Big KIWI guy, nice enough chap. The heavens opened as we took out the old screen, so not much he could do about it in fairness.

BTW, Fitter, instead of copying text from a previous post, (to reply to) it's much easier to hit the quote button (all the text is then there and ready to reply to or edit). :)

lol, thanks thats what i done, i just copy a bit so whoever knows what i'm replying to at that time of my waffle :) thanks ;)

Autoglass offer a lifetime guarentee, call them your details will be on the system.

As long as there is no damage, i.e cracks or chips then there will be no issue, may even re use the glass as there's no problem with that either, unless it breaks during cutting ;)
