Hi all, one of the jets appears blocked, other 3 squirt fine. As they are heated, i always use MB cleaner to prevent this. I attempted to remove inlet grill by removing the only 3 Torx screws i can see but, the grill still seems solid. Searched forum but no joy for a W203. Any ideas anyone?

Use an opened paperclip into the jet to unblock it.

Hi tik - just a thought - you should maybe check under the bonnet fully extended up to 90deg

I have noticed on my car that the tubes sometimes come loose at the T piece - just before the nozzles. I access this by removing a black plastic cover/s on the underside of the bonnet - no need to remove grill on the bonnet on my E300TD

on my car the tubes and nozzle are connected to the bonnet - not sure if this applies to your model

DM - i've tried that, ok for awhile, then blocks again.

Rog Dodg - the design of mine is different, underside of grill, 2/3rds is covered by integral metal box section, a small section of grill either end is accessible. This is where the 2 securing screws are plus one in middle passing through metal box section. The grill remains firmly in place even with the 3 screw removed. Don't know what else is holding it?

Sorry mate:o - hope you get it sorted

Looking at the Russian parts site is states just 3 screws,.
Once you're unscrewed it you don't have to tilt it out off a catch do you?

In the middle of the grill is a black Blob/What is it?
Is that an extra connector?

The black blob is the temperature sensor for the climate control.

As an aside I find that robbing one of the lady's sewing needles makes a fine tool for dislodging the gook from the jet. Hooked out a solid lump last time!!

How does washer fluid gel like that?

To get to the washer jets, remove 3 torq screws, and with the bonnet up look through the colour coded grill. to the black mesh grill below.
There are about 10 small back box catches which you have to press to disengage.
I started at the privers side pushed the 1st connector down and whilst pushung the grill out from under the bonnet.
Using an old wooden clothes peg hels it out and on to the next one.
I just dis the front edge and the grill can be lifted out
Changed the washer jets, At a cost of £58 a pair and now work fine
The jets are heated and also contain the non return valve, so water to screen straight away no 10 sec wait

Thanks to all for replies.
Nigel, thats great, will give it ago at weekend. I did some of the catches you descibe and after pressing a few in, the grill still seemed as solid and one of the catches fell off. So now i know this is the procedure, i will carry on with the method you mentioned. Thanks.

Keith

Do firmly but gntly as a couple of mine were brittle, and I had to stick them back on withmt glue gun.
Also have a couple of old towels to rest the grill on saves the bonnet paint work

I also have this problem and never happened on many other cars I've owned, anyway.

Does anyone know how to access the underside of bonnet on clk c209 2009 coupe as looks completely sealed apart from 2 torx screws visible. Can't see how to unclipp fixings on grile from top side and being capable of re fitting them.

Any help appreciated.

Usual story, motor pump works, completely blocked driver's side. No leaks present inside under hood as placed a sheet of cardboard.

where is this 3rd hex screw under bonnet. I only see 2.

clk coupe C209 model . Also don't understand how it's possible to refit the colour coded grill if plastic clips/latches have to be reattached. No access to nozzle hoses due to it being a sealed unit under bonnet?

A stupid design .I see other models are more accessible.

3rd screw is is under the bonnet insulation
