anyone got any tips for unblocking a jet on the c class w203. went to use a pin but noticed it had two holes, any ideas welcome. thanks.

Are you sure it is the jet that is blocked and not the connecting pipe or pump?

I know you need a special tool to adjust the jets on an MB - about £10 off eBay

have you a link to the page, as the one you put on just goes to the main page. thanks.

I bought one a while back for my S204, but it does not adjust the jets! I found there's a small screw on the top of the jet that adjusts the jet up and down.

Wasn’t meant to link to eBay item - damned auto fill

Easy enough to search on the bay

You could try uncoupling the tubing from the jets, attach a short piece and blow through to unblock.

There are a few things to check starting with the pump. Is the pump working? if so I have read there's a non-return valve down by the washer bottle that may be worth replacing, I think you can pick these in Halfords for a few pennies.

Next up are any of the hoses cracked or blocked? An obvious one but worth following the hose up anyway and maybe popping them of the jets and see if screen wash comes out. So many stories of screen washes turning to jelly blocking up the lines. I think lines and jets are £45 from Mercedes.

You're already checking but the jets could be blocked if water is coming out the lines and not from the jets them it'll pretty much confirm this.

Indicator stalk is next on the scene it's just happened to me! if the wiper isn't doing a sweep or if you have to press it in a few times to get it to work then this could be the culprit.

Lastly if all of the above is fine then it could be the relay although this I think would be the most unlikely as they're pretty bullet proof but worth a mention.

Jet wise I would take them off remove the hoses and clean them out if you poke anything in them it may not clear the blockage and whatever you push down may come backup and block again.

that is quite a list chris, thanks, will check it out this weekend.

Sorry with mine acting up it's one I ran through to diagnose my fault.

it is just the drivers side, the other one is strong.

In which case skip to removing the jet and popping the hose off it'll be easier to clean thoroughly. :)

The adjuster tool with the two flat (different width) prongs does not fit all C class W/S203 washer nozzles. My 2006 C55 for example has a similar looking spray nozzle but that tool does not fit., some earlier cars had ball type spray nozzles. My drivers side one was weak but when I removed it to unblock it I had little success, blasted it with compressed air and all kinds of cleaner, but to avail and as OP says you can't get a pin in there.

I ended up swapping left for right so driver side gets a good blast, passenger side not so good. Will buy a new nozzle when I get around to it

I tried for a replacement jet for my S204, no joy, MB only supply the full bifta (pipes and jets pre-assembled) so you replace everything from the pump output to the windscreen - for about £75 just for the part, plus the hassle of fitting it! I bought a second hand set from Prestige Allparts for £35, removed the part I needed (drivers side jet and pipe) and put the rest away in the "just in case" parts bin!

on inspection, there seems to be a plastic cover showing two holes, can this be removed, as cannot get to the jets from the top of bonnet. dont want to proceed in case i break something.

My washer jets (S204 2008) have a plastic cover that can be removed by levering off with a small screwdriver or similar allowing the jet itself to be pushed down and pulled out for access. Maybe yours are the same!

OP , give us a photo . The nozzles on mine can only be removed by taking the whole vent element off the bonnet by unscrewing it from underneath.

IMG-20200126-WA0006.jpg Here is a photo of the jets. As you can see I can't access the jet.

Cover the functioning jet with your finger or if you can't get access for that, block it with the pin. More pressure on the blocked jet will sometimes clear it.

You will need to remove the vent part from the bonnet from underneath to access the jets where you will notice that there is no adjust-ability on them. Remove the hoses and electrical connections , remove the jet part and give it a shot with compressed air.
This did not work on mine despite using spray solvents - against my better judgment - the nozzle remains partially blocked. Doing this also allows you to see/measure the actual liquid flow from the hoses when the pump is activated.

I swapped the good one with the weak one so the driver gets a better blast than the passenger. like I said I will buy another nozzle when I can be bothered to get around to it.

To do this you have to 're-hand' the spray nozzles by changing the plug and hose connections around. Be careful taking the vent off the bonnet as it can be easily broken, especially if cold.

Only MB could make spraying a windshield this unnecessarily complicated.

Good luck.

tried blocking the working jet but made no difference, worth a try though.
