Hi guys,

not sure what section this goes in so i'll start it here.

My windscreen washers are broken, I assume it is the pump as
when i open the bonnet and push in the stick there is no sucking
there is no noise and the water just sits there :(

Any help advise,
Part numbers would be great!

Thanks

:)

First things first, Check any fuses, located under the bonnet on the drivers side under a black plastic cover. Turn over the cover and you will see what fuse controls the washers. If the fuse is ok, time to check pump. I'm not sure If you can take these out of the washer reservoir, but try blowing through it, If you can't it's blocked try using compressed air, but only on a lowish pressure... Then use 2 bare wires and connect one wire to a negative terminal on a battery and then another on the positive. Put the wires onto the connector on the pump, If it operates, then the wiring from the main live feed to the Fuse then the switch and then the pump. I think an auto electrician could help you with this part. Just a word of advice, when having electrical work done on your car, have a spare battery handy to swap over when you have finished!

sounds good,

I checked the fuse it's fine.
Checking the wiring is a good idea,
i will do that tomorrow.

Cheers

Brad
I'll tell you what, I have just had a thought! Do you have a multimeter or anything that will register a current? Get someone to press the switch and put the two probes in the wiring connector on the loom and see if there is a current. If there's a current, Then check the Pump for blockages/operation. If there is no current at the connector, start checking wiring!

Just had to get a new washer pump for my passenger headlight - £180 from Merc :-o

i got that one covered. it never works :)
