Windscreens

Hi,

I have recently bought a 2001 C200K. Should it come with a graduated top tint on the front windscreen?
I suspect mine has been replaced - although the screen is Pilinkgton (like the rest of the car), it does not have a MB logo on it or a graduated tint.

What does your have?

I think, from what you have said, that you dont have an MB screen. Somewhere along the edge there sould be at least a 'Star' logo and the screen, if I remember correctly, is shaded albeit in a subtle manner. I dont have mine with me today to check, its that subtle

A piccy on my desk tells me it is shaded though .

Mine has just been changed by Autoglass. No MB just Pilkington sign. So your's has probably been changed for some reason.

I've mentioned this before, and I don't know if all Insurers would allow it, but when my screen needing replacement on my last W202 I got a specialist local firm to order in a proper Mercedes-Benz screen from my VIN number.

Cost was exactly the same as using Autoglass/RAC Auto Windscreens etc, but I felt more comfortable using a trusted reliable firm, and I was certain of getting the correct screen (eg, correct colour glass, correct top tint, VIN window etc) and it came with the proper Mercedes logos too!

Thanks for the tip Will. I will keep that in mind for when mine needs replacing.
