Hi

Looking at winter tyres for my C Class 350CDI, at the minute I am on staggered wheels, front 225/40 18, rear 255/35 18. I am struggling to find any winter tyres in this size although I have sourced a set of replica mercedes alloys in this size for a reasonble price.
Can I fit 17" alloys?
Do they have to staggered?
Would 225/45 17 front, 245/40 17 rear fit?
Where is the best place to search for winter tyres on-line?

Thanks in advance your all such a helpful bunch.

Michael.

If you look in your manual in the tyre section it will give you all the suitable sizes and speed ratings for tyres.

The smaller the better :)

Hi
Thanks I think the manual is a bit complicated I am a bit confused!

Speak to your dealer parts department , the will be doing winter tyre packages. Id guess you would need 17" wheels because of the clearence for the brakes.

Ive went for 17" all round with 225/45/17. Although mine were staggered 17", is does not seem to be a problem on the wider alloy.

According to the online manual, for the W204 C350CDI you can use 225/45 R17 91H tyres on 7.5J x 17 ET47 wheels all round, so that's what I'd aim for as it means you can swap them front to rear to even out the wear, and 17" winter tyres are much easier to find (and cheaper!) than 18's.
