Stick to the big brands, and go for whichever you can get the best deal on, and you won't go wrong. Check your manual, as the recommended tyre size may be different for winter (often narrower).

I have conti winter tyres on my cls they are great when temp above 7degC but wear more in the current warm spells

I have just seen some Hankook for a better price than others that I have seen but they are DOT 2011??

Infact ignore that you won't, yours is facelift

Wondered as I need new tyres too. One of the tyres (forgot which end) is 225/35ZR18 94w which is strange as I can't even find that size on tyre sites

I'm sure I saw this size option on black circles or Tyre leader?

I just put a set of the new Hankooks winter tyres on

I have differing size AMG 18s on and they seem to have a wide range of sizes

OPONEO did me a set for £375

Winter icept evo2 W320

So far so good (1 week and 200 miles) but the warmest winter on record to come.....:wallbash:

I always use Nokian

I've had a set of Michelin Alpin winter tyres for my Luxo-Barge no complaints although I live in the Deep South. I understand winter tyres are mostly about braking distances when its cold and wet. We don't get a great deal of snow here.

Hi crockers, did you mount these straight onto your alloys? Been looking at steel wheels to mount them on but not sure if I should put them on smaller wheels? Currently on 18's

Where are you in the UK? Northern Scotland will have rather different requirements to the Isles of Scilly?

I am in Leeds

Michelin CrossClimate, all season tyre and seem to be doing a good job so far, especially in the very wet! Alan

Currently waiting on them to release in 18"s

Heard nothing but decent comments on those tyres :thumb:

I have some 17" alloy and winter wheels(Michelin) stored at Leeds Mercedes that I no longer need due to changing to a w205. They were used on my w204 220d and are official Mercedes wheel and tyre set. If you are interested I can get tread etc and ensure they can continue storing/swap for you. Then obviously we can decide price

Hi Bobmushroom.. I was only going to change the tyres to keep the cost down tbh as I've only just purchased the car, and was wanting brand new tyres.. But if you could get me the amount remaining on the tyres and let me know how much you would be looking for them quite quickly then i could be interested.. I'm guessing these will fit mine no probs if you had them on yours?? As above its a C25O - 2012 - on 18" AMG's at moment

I swapped to winter tyres a week ago for my CLK.
They cost me £65 on ebay back in the summer for all 4 tyres which all have 7-8mm.

I bought a spare set of wheels to put them on of same type as original for £130.

I will check in the morning and PM you. They will be more than the above post though
