Wires for seat occupancy sensor (W210)

Hi, I have the SRS and airbag light by gearstick staying on and suspect the seat occupancy sensor.

I have read a few 'how to' guides and feel confident sorting it out but have read that in some cases its the wire(s)from the sensor that break due to their route from under the seat and this can be resolved by cutting the offending wire and soldering a new length in its place (after testing for continuity of course!!).

If this is the case, what type of wire would I need to get (3 wires and yellow plug)?

The car is a 2001 W210 (facelift).

The fault is very likely to be the occupancy sensor film, but if it's the wires then regular thin multi-strand will be fine.
