I've had an interesting week of the good the bad and ugly of MB customer service
Interested in a CL63 AMG but tried to get independent advice from MB dealers
Little joy as I tried to call to find someone
No cars for sale so no time to talk
Will get someone to call you back - no chance
Have never seen one so no idea
Have you tried google as I have no idea - honestly !
Not interested
One or two dealer took time but in general the response was astonishing
And bad
So I've decided to ignore the CL63 and Mercedes ....

Slightly confused, do you mean that you've been calling Mercedes dealers to ask them for advice an the CL63?

Did these dealers have a CL63 for sale?

Cl65

yes indeed
And dealers who have an AMG specialist

You will probably get more helpful, and honest advice, in these forums.

I agree, when I was after more in-depth information on the SL 63 that I had decided I wanted I put an enquiry on Pistonheads asking owners for feed-back, although I got a couple of helpful replies on the whole it was very little.

I had concluded that the main dealers may be good at telling you how the heater works but very little else and of course would recommend you have the car serviced with them regardless of cost.

If you are interested in small production number cars forums like this are the only reliable source of info it just takes a bit more digging to find the relevant info.

Cl63

Sadly the CL63 is a rare beast and I thought that the AMG specialists would be happy to help as that is what their job is
But in general the commitment to assist was zero !
And yes if they were like this forum all would be good

Us independents will probably be a better bet to ask questions.

I have the CL63 earmarked for a future purchase once I've completed the University Taxi service for my daughter and my Phaeton is ready to throw away.
I like the N/A 6.2 engine and just the other day one burbled past me at a junction and sounded lovely but I could easily fall for the 65 model when I don't have to do 400 mile round trips for my daughter. From my limited knowledge I've not come across any major problems with them apart from fuel and maintenance which will be high, but like any £100K plus car parts will be expensive but the way I look at it is you're buying one for about a third of its original cost so you can't have everything.

It sounds like you were earmarked as a tyrekicker/timewaster by those dealers that didn't respond in the way that you wanted.
