Evere since I've had this car there has been a noise from the steering. I put it down to a worn bush on the steering column.

I've taken it to MB and they diagnosed worn shocks and some other suspnsion components.

They deny that this would have caused the wear on the tyre shoulders (front wheels) and it is down to tracking. It hasn't been down a pot hole, neither has it been kerbed.

The shocks, etc are being replaced under AUC warranty. They won't do the tracking under warranty.

Are they correct about the tyres?

Thanks

If they are doing the shocks I would have thought that they would want to do the tracking to stop you coming back. I am never convinced how exactly people know that the shocks are are worn (unless ofcourse they are obviously knackered) failing to give any damping. Other will be more knowledgable on this. But shoulders going to me would tend to indicate tyre pressure to low (I am assuming that you mean inner & outer shoulders are wearing.

If the tyres are wearing on the outer and inner edges the the tyre pressures are too low.
