crossed the unlucky path at traffic lights of a recently occurred accident this morning between an impreza and a fiesta...amazed at the little damage for a head on on the ford...what was really shocking was that the impreza driver was pouring a the contents of a very small watering can onto a very large fire coming from within his completely mangled bonnet...brave...stupid???...hurt...i hope not

surely insurance means we dont have to risk life and limb for a lump of metal..

Maybe he was topping up his washer fluid..? :)

The natural instinct is to save the vehicle if you can.

A friend of mine put out an electrical and fuel fire on his Lotus (yes I do know what it means :D) with a borrowed fire extinguisher.
He went under the car and sprayed. It worked and saved the car.......FOOL!!

I once came along a country road to see 2 headlights, one on top of the other. When I got closer, I discovered that a coloured gentleman had put his van on its side. I then found that he was catching the petrol that was dripping from around the hot engine, in a funnel made of a rolled up newspaper! Crazy or what?

Not as mad as you may think. Heat can't ignite petrol, there needs to be an open flame or spark. ;)
