Hi guys ,still cant find 3rd or 4th gear and i was wondering, if the maf was at fault could this airflow sensor thing be messing up the gear changes. Could it be that not enough air means its not time to change up?

Checked your fluid level ? Unlikely to be your MAFF Could be a stuck kickdown switch preventing upshifts or a faulty fuel pump relay. Check by disconnecting the electrical connection to the gearbox kickdown solenoid Its at back of the box towards the gearbox tail shaft on the offside IIRC- If that cures it ---check to see if there's a constant 12v present - if so you may have an electrical fault in the kickdown circuitry.

Your car uses a hydraulic only gearbox, so the MAF has no influence.

The gear change points are governed by the rotary governor and the throttle position cable.

My coupe lost 5th with a disconnected MAF, I reconnected and the pannic was over. As above though, I dont the the 4 speed takes any signal from the MAF.

sds please
