Wow.... never changed the auto transmission fluid???

The quoted B3 included servicing engine oil+filter, air filter, cabin air filter, spark plugs, and break fluid. it was quoted at £580 at the local MB and £430 at the local indie.

now, all DOYed and genuine parts costed me £150 only. Of course, bought a brand new tools (wrench & socket set, vacuum pump, sealey fluid bleeder, toqrue wrench, etc etc) and whole lot wasn't cheap, but feeling that it was worth as i will carry on over years now and then..!

Well you've convinced me. Next service on mine (only done 45k miles) will include the gearbox. Cheers.

Whilst you're at it, don't forget the neglected differential. This is dead easy to do at the same time as the transmission is draining.
