Car loaded ready for trip with kids to Suffolk. Parked up in local supermarket car park and tore a small hole in the sidewall of my 2 month old premium contact 5 (osr). Proceeded to put on spare but wheel nuts protruding slightly. Set off to local tyre shop to get replacement tyre but slight noise coming from rear so limped it to local garage. They told me that the studs I had used were for the alloys and I should have used different ones for the spare and that it is likely that I will have damaged parking brake. Can anyone advise what damage is possible/likely? Thanks.

You could have damaged your parking brake. The bolts are much shorter for the spare steel wheel. I'm surprised you haven't got a set of bolts n your MB toolkit. Have you checked?

You really need to get that wheel off and check the parking brake shoes have not been dislodged on that side.
