Thinking about taking my W124 cabriolet to Mercs Only in Hanwell, West London,(WWW.mercsonly.co.uk).... Any views on experiences/opinions are welcome as I dont know much about this specialist, seems reasonable & being very local to me are my reasons for considering them.....

    Cheers Dee

IIRC, there wasnt much positive to say about them.

Suggest Colin Ferns in Richmond might be a better option.

Colin ferns in richmond is much better. I'm not sure if i'm allowed to say this, but M-Only blamed my gearbox when i had a big hole in my diff which they couldn't spot. They charged me £100 to check everything out, but to be fair they gave me a full refund + £30 "for my troubles" as they put it.

Can you expand on that. Rage has direct experience, which he has shared with us.

I didnt have a very good experience with them, I elaborated on one of threads maybe a year ago. I just found that they were not good with the older mercs and their customer service left alot to be desired for.

    Merc Tech

What about "benztech" is mobile and knows his stuff with mainly the new mercs 1998 onwards. He does not really advertise its all recommendation but i can put him in touch with you.
He comes to you and his personnel service is great, ive recommended him to a few people and hes come up good.
He used to work for MB and mobilo i think, he works with another guy - apprentice tech.
Hes quiet a busy chap he works in and around sw london.
He comes, he diagnoses and he returns - all you could want and at £60 per hour he comes to you its so convienient.

ive had my w202 serviced by them twice recently....very happy with service and prices.....need to specify exactly what you want done though...they have a tendency to find other problems (!)...

So Benztech, in order to publicise your business, you secretly login under a pseudonym, (against form rules) pretending to be to be an unconnected and happy customer.

Your underhanded actions have just put me (and probably others) right off touching you with a barge pole.
