Ive been looking into this for ages, I'd just like to ask...
Before buying anything, can Benz plug my car in to find out wether my car will respond to the code for having xenons fitted.
My intention is to fit the lighter lamps, without the motors to steer the beam.
I intend on fitting the rear self levelling module. I hope I can get it to factory standard.

With all these posts of upgrades you want to do, wouldn't it be simpler, cheaper and quicker to simply change your car?

Yes, you are right. We've just decided against a 20k 911 as a second car. Trading in a mini cooper S conv. That we've only owned since nov. last year and just put 4x Michellin pilots, mot, years tax etc.
At the end of it the Benz will still end up out shining the 911 in terms of it's tan interior combined with the black dash, the V6 CDI is fab. Great looks and streets ahead with gadgets.
The 911's still have cassette players in 2002-05.
So we're sticking with the Benz and keeping the MCS for 3 years.
Hence, it's now time to do the things I've always fancied doing to the Benz!

The 209 is a close cousin to the 203. If the model was offered with xenons (I'm pretty sure it was) then it will accept the retro-fit.
The adjusting motors are part of the xenon light unit, so if you are doing this legally then you will be fitting the complete bi-xenon unit. You will also need the front and rear ARB sensors to control the headlamp aim. Does the car already have headlamp washers?

Yes, the CLK came with two types of xenons, the black series shares the ones I'm wanting (without directional aim and heavy motors)
Its no problem fitting the ARB sensors.
It already has washers!
The car needs re coding to accept voltage change.
But I've read, from people with the knowledge above, that some CLK's don't accept the code.

If your looking to save cost and do a retrofit than you could get OEM bi xenon headlamps and have your car coded via STAR "xenon = present" and just manually align the headlamp but your choice. It would simply be plug and play. Also decide what colour tempertaure you want your xenon D2S bulbs - if you want that nice white crip look than go for 5-6K.

Thanks. I want the dip-down dip-up (self levelling) to occurr when I switch them on.
As my mini cooper does, I can't have that being better. Rofl!
