A work colleague is maybe getting one of these.

I think the insurance is likely to put her off going from a 1.6 petrol to a 2.7 5 cyl but nevertheless, should the insurance be acceptable, are there any other gotchas with these?

I understand from this forum that the 270 engine is very good and only dropped due to emissions. I know it wont have a DPF.

That will be a pre-facelift model no? from what ive read avoid like the plague!

I understand it's been running OK for a year - from a family member of hers. However, she is about to have a nipper so cash is not exactly overflowing.

Not sure if facelift.

It depends on the mileage and exactly what has been done to it already.

My ML was great engine wise until a certain point, around 180k miles then it got to be one thing after another. (thousands of pounds) but all bolt on bits. The head still hasn't been off to this day!
