Yet another E500 S212!

608AUTOMATIC HIGH BEAM SWITCH (IHC)
619CORNERING ILLUMINATION

These look like options and very handy ones at that.

This is part of ILS - which IIRC is standard on 212 500's.

Bi-xenons with cornering functions and auto main beam. Comes into its own on dark country roads in the pouring rain in winter.

Thanks chaps, appreciate your input.

A couple of little extras there, then, but nothing too exciting. I don't really feel like it's missing anything that I desperately need.

@ Londonscottish, yes, on here. It was basically me asking how you managed to have your dash display showing miles (the pic showing 60k miles) and your trip/mpg showing in miles too. Mine is all in KPH and I can't seem to change it - including the digital speedo, which I'm told cannot be changed due to the legal requirement of having to show MPH and KPH on the same cluster.

Ah OK. Its one of the settings in the dash display thing. You do it though the buttons on the steering wheel.

Out of interest it's also where you switch your headlights for driving on the continent which is handy. Although it switches the ILS off.

Yeah, I've tried all that and I still can't get it to change 🤔

Here's how I do it;

(1) Use the right arrow to scroll across the menu options until you get to "Settings"
(2) Select "Instrument Cluster" by hitting OK
(3 Toggle between MPH & KPH us the OK button

Thank you! That's got it 😁

That was also embarrassingly easy when you put it like that, I don't know how I couldn't figure it out... I was trying to do it in the trip section

No worries. And those menus aren't the most intuitive at first.

I suspect it's set up according to German logical thinking, not British?

Well it certainly is when you want to switch your headlamps over to drive on the continent.

I was trying to do that when I discovered that my Dipped Headlight setting was for already set for "Left-Hand Drive". I presumed that the previous owner had been over to France and had forgotten to change them back. So I changed the setting to "Right-Had Drive" at which point it turned my ILS off. Very odd.

Did some consulting on here and it turned out that when MB say "Left-Hand Drive" they mean "Driving on the Left".....

Oh really... So on my dash I need to be set to LHD? I think mines set to RHD!

Have a check. If so, your ILS will be turned off - so no cornering function and (I think) no auto main beam.

Plus your headlights will be pointing towards oncoming traffic rather than the verge.
