Yet another kwikfit suck thread

Anyone noticed that Warranty Direct has teamed up with Kwikfit to offer MOT's?

That suggests that Warranty Direct just don't know what the general opinion of Kwikfit is. A right turn-off that is for me...... Amazing

So should I be with Warranty Direct (never will be) They would take my car for repairs to Quick Fit? Or would I have to have my car serviced there to keep up the warranty. Surely not.

I have used them for oil change and aircon regas, price is right and I'm happy enough.
A plus for me is that I can leave the car all day while at the office and save on car parking!

From memory you joined Warranty Direct and that entitled you to a 'free' MOT at Kwikfit.......

Result...."Oh by the way Sir, you need new pads and discs for the MOT".

No Thanks.

Before this 'Commercial Deal', (Accountants have no doubt dreamed this up), I had Warranty Direct high in my estimation as a result of good service on a friends high mileage Passat.
Now I'm not so sure.

This is completely true.

18 years ago when I started driving I had a Volvo 340 thing, got a flat just before driving home to parents in Norwich from Leicester, as we got back noticed a rumble, father in law has a garage so put it on the ramp, the wheel bolts were loose and one was missing.

My old man used them to replace a tyre on his 730d a couple of years back and and his rear wheel came off a mile down the road, left with one bolt on.
Quite a bit of damage, they paid up, but not the point, he was just about to join the motorway.

2 weeks ago my brother got them to put a set of new wheels on his 530i that he had bought, they came with tyres on so just a wheel change.
Rear wheel came off and ripped his bumper off, amazingly no other damage, turns out there were bolts still in the hub, so had been over tightened!

3 different branches over different time periods, but is enough to put me off for ever.
