Oh my!!!!!

So ASR is supposed to do what exactly? Press the button and a light comes on on the fascia to indicate the feature is "on"?

That was a joke (about ASR). It's traction control, by default it's on ... light on the dash means it's off.

Well I am lucky enough to own a W140 S class with the same spec 7.3S motor etc. Even with the traction control switched off MB will not allow it to be completely switched off and therefore it is still intrusive which is a pain. Loading it on the brake such as this chappy does would allow the burnouts etc. but as I have would have to pay for the tyre bill or worse the gearbox or potential engine damage from bouncing it off the rev limiter I'd rather not bother. Plus it just does not seem the right thing to do with an S class.
