I used to use YTD to download videos from youtube, but for some time (about a year now) it become pain in the back side (freezes, locks out the system) and I ended up removing it from my machine.

Have tried number of software since then, but none was quite good to make it worthwhile.

What do you use? Anything worth recommending?

Still works for me--- It needs constant updating because youtube are always changing their format. IRRC it also comes with bloatware which can clog up your computer unless you specifically opt out of downloading it.[ even the updates] It's possible that your computer security is detecting some form of install programme trying to run and causing a crash. Best to remove it completely-- run something like Ccleaner to tidy up and then try a fresh install but make sure there's no bloatware attached?
