Your MBUK Finance Journey...winding road

A couple of weeks ago, I handed over my E-class estate 220 CDI after three years of PCP. BCA inspected the car on-site and collected it.

I received a letter from M-B Finance a few days ago thanking me for having looked after my car well and for having kept it above expected standard. The letter further confirmed that there would be no termination charge.

Well, I have always looked after my cars well and that one was no exception. That being said, the A Service was due and the front tyres were on their last leg. As for interior, the floor mats did their job pretty well to keep the kids' mess under control.

Strange how experiences can vary.

Cheers

When I handed back my C320 CDI estate at the end of the lease to the collection driver I took photographs of the wheels, which I had refurbished, and the body work. The driver said how good the car looked for a 3 year old 85,000 mile car. A week or two later I received a letter asking for £350.00 to repair scratches on offside front wing. My photos showed no scratches and after writing back and forth MB finance agreed to drop the charge. They did charge for stone chips which I had touched up with MB touch up paint and we had a discussion on what wear and tear means as written in the small print of the lease documents. In the end I had to pay. So it pays to take pics on the day the car is returned. This contrasted with a Suburu which I had on lease which was returned to the supplying garage after 3 years and 90,000 miles and that was that, no word and no charges.

At 4 years old, my L200 had a body inspection whilst in for a service. As It's a working tool there are numerous minor scratches, etc around the load area. A couple of weeks later I noticed lifting paint or lacquer around the base of the aerial on the roof. So took it back to main dealer. They took it into the workshop so they could inspect under a certain light & they tested the paint thickness. They advised that the roof had been re-sprayed:eek: It was a 6 week old pre-registered vehicle with 10 miles on the clock when I bought it.

Probably damaged during delivery. I had a Metro van some years ago with bodywork damage when collected new from main dealer, luckily I saw it before driving off.
