Hundred quid? Hundred quid?!!!!!!!! You MUST be joking!! It's worth more than that don't we all know it, you wait, I'll sell it tomorrow (later today actually)and make a few hundred more than that! ::D

Hi Gina,

know the fob you mean..

take the cover off and physically pry the rubber buttons off the circuit board... connect battery and see if the light is still lit...

also check the battery is correct way around...

And if that doesn't work buy a VW Golf:D

If it is the old style one with the red and green rubber buttons, they don't like not being used. My old 98 3-series had one that remained duff although there was nothing "wrong" with it. Although they were "factory" they were really aftermarket systems bolted on. My neighbours went off at least once a week!!!

There is a link here to re-programming but I don't know about your LED being stuck on: -

Ooh wait here is one with the grey and red buttons: -

Thanks, I shall have a go at that in a bit, would do it now, only my brother decided it was broken and has removed the battery!

Had a go at the second link's suggestion, nothing happened! Maybe a trip to BMW is needed....:(

Is the LED still stuck on.? That would indicate a problem with the button being stuck down, as jay commented.

It doesn't seem or appear to be stuck down though, which is the weird thing, but I shall have to another look later. Both buttons click the same but then that might not be a true indication.

You need to pull the circuit board out of the case and pull the buttons off, then see. If the LED is still lit then the unit is probably duff.

Can't you use a multimeter..??

I was going to buy a beemer and went on to the forum and as you say useless,I always said this forum takes some beating just sorry I had to go to another make of car but with what I was willing to spend on a car I came into the bad time for Mercedes bracket.

I shall miss the old star on the front but must be honest the c-class that I had was very basic.
