More likely is a strut that needs checking rather the compressor. If it was a faulty compressor then the car wouldn’t raise at all.

Info wikipedia: Twin-Turbo (earliest top versions) or Single Twin-scroll turbo (latest top versions) https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mercedes-Benz_OM654_engine So OP’s ride is a twin turbo engine with 245 Hp while the W/S206 300d has a single twin-scroll turbo with 265 Hp.

It’s the opposite c220 is single turbo and c250 c300 are twin turbo engines.

If you post your VIN I can give you the OE part numbers from EPC and then search in Autodoc for them.
