Wearing tyres on the inside edges has been an issue on Mercedes for as long as I can remember even when the alignment is good and tyre pressures are maintained.
27k is a really good mileage to get from a tyre fitted to a MB. I get 15k at a push. The Mrs gets 20k as I have a heavier right foot.
A lesson to all. Check the tyres properly every few weeks.
