Lots of Chrome in France

The question of chrome or not won’t be necessary as chrome plating will be banned in europe from next year 🫣
One of the bonuses of not being in the EU.

I used to deliver fastenings for plating to electroplaters on the Sussex coast and in South London years ago.
I've got to say, with all those hot bubbling baths of noxious chemicals, they were pretty unpleasant places to be.

I’d be interested to know what the owners of these places feel about it.

Love that you guys have moved your Merc estates to France. Nice! I have fond memories of many areas of France.
I've just moved from Mercs to another part of my estates.....in the Highlands 🤣

But I'm back in Norfolk now

It’ll still mean the end of chrome for the whole industry. It’s hard to imagine any brand selling Chromed and non-chromed models of mainline vehicles.

Pretty ticked, I'd have thought.
I know a lot of their work is 'nut and bolt' stuff, but like a most trades, its a skilled craft. Some of the stuff I remember seeing once they'd dipped and polished it was awesome; especially the car/motorcyle parts.

My old CLK had the blue glass and the chrome strips...in fact quite a bit of chrome!....I quite liked that.....but the only chrome on my Alfa is the door handles (although it does have the almost matching stainless mirror outers from the Ti model.....like that too!.....I think its dependant on the individual car and the colour of that car whether chrome is "right or not".....and of course personal taste.

My brother is a product designer and deals with a few chrome plating specialists.

My old dodgy Dodge in France a couple of years ago, just the right amount of chrome 😇

Maybe. I like the Q-car look though. Flying under the radar, without drawing too much attention. Soft voice big stick and all that. Sometimes people can get a bit green eyed though, saying things like “ooooh look at you in your Premium Plus 125 Navi”. Smart ForFour AMG Black Series Night Edition Premium Plus 125 Powered by Brabus
Corrected that for you :)
